Post-exposure prophylaxis (PeP) is a medical treatment used after a potential exposure to HIV to prevent infection. This treatment should be started as soon as possible, ideally within 24 hours after exposure and no later than 72 hours. The medications used in PeP include a combination of three antiretroviral drugs. Viropil contains Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, Lamivudine, and Dolutegravir (Tivicay). This medication is administered orally for the 28 days following exposure.
